I discovered clay through heartbreak roughly two years ago.   From the first moment I began "playing with clay" I knew I had found my passion.

Soon afterwards my father surprised me when he shared that pottery is in my blood through his mother, my Grandma Nancy "Piscitello" Shaw.  Her parents, my great-grandparents, emigrated from Sicily to Pennsylvania in the early 1900's.

Generations back, Rosario Piscitello founded Piscitello Ceramics in Sicily, in 1683.  Today, Antonio Piscitello, and his family, are still producing beautiful tiles, plates and other works of art.  They are the only ceramic producer active for over 340 years in Sicily.

My family history inspires me each time I sit down at my wheel here in Antioch, IL.  When I’m at my wheel with a raw, ball of clay, I have a general idea of what I am looking to create, but the clay ultimately tells me what it wants to be.

Thank you for visiting my site.  I hope you enjoy your time perusing my site.  If one of my pieces speaks to you and you choose to purchase it, thank you!
